9th Grade Core Instruction
Welcome to 9th Grade at Sacramento New Technology Early College High School!
At Sacramento New Technology Early College High School, we understand that the 9th grade year is crucial for setting the foundation for success in high school and beyond. We are committed to providing our students with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Why 9th Grade Matters:
- Building Strong Foundations: The courses and experiences in 9th grade are designed to help students develop essential skills and knowledge that will carry them through the rest of their high school journey and into their future careers.
- Early College and Dual Enrollment: Our unique Early College program allows students to take college-level courses and earn both high school and college credits simultaneously. This head start offers numerous benefits, including reduced college tuition costs, advanced academic standing, and a seamless transition to higher education. Students will begin their college journey in the 9th grade college courses that will support their success with dual enrollment.
- Holistic Development: We emphasize the development of the whole student, focusing not only on academics but also on social and emotional growth. Our supportive learning environment encourages students to explore their interests, build meaningful relationships, and become responsible, engaged citizens.
Our Commitment to our 9th Graders:
- Personalized Support: We offer personalized support to help each student navigate the transition to high school, set goals, and achieve their full potential. As partners with Sac City College’s HSI-ECP program, ALL of our 9th graders will develop Ed Plans with a college counselor. This is in addition to the support and direction they will receive from our high school guidance counselor.
- Innovative Learning Opportunities: Our curriculum is crafted to be both engaging and relevant, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications and project-based learning that makes education meaningful and inspiring. Students have the opportunity to dual enroll in college courses, broadening their access to a wide range of innovative and stimulating coursework.
- Community and Collaboration: Students are encouraged to collaborate with their peers, participate in school governance, and contribute to a positive school culture based on trust, respect, and responsibility.
